Pete Ward, Professor of Practical Theology, Durham University is currently researching Bluegrass and religion - an investigation into the meaning of bluegrass songs.

Pete would be very grateful if you could spare a few minutes to listen to the uploaded bluegrass tracks and answer a few questions - click here to go to the survey. Thankyou

An evening in with contemporary bluegrass four piece The Slocan Ramblers. Recorded especially for CatStrand during a recording session recently which involved a quarantining banjo player. The band blend impressive bluegrass virtuosity with a fresh contemporary appeal, with a reputation for energetic live shows and impeccable musicianship. The band’s third album Queen City Jubilee was nominated for a 2019 Juno Award (Traditional Roots Album of the Year) and they also won the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Momentum Band of the Year Award in 2020, the first non-USA act to achieve this.
